Affects on loved ones
Secondly, when a teen is on the verge of committing suicide, they do not think about how it would affect the people around them, such as their family. A breath-taking event like teen suicide has such a big impact on the their families, often for the worse. A specific example is the Youtube star, Anna Akana, who has a younger sister that committed suicide at the age of 13. Anna explained it as an before and after event that changed her into a completely different person. She began to fall into severe depression and experienced emotions like confusion, guilt, hatred, and so on. People who are close to teens who suicided would receive the same kind of pain that the teen who passed away did. Most parents would feel as if they have failed in raising and being there for the children and start to question themselves when maybe, they have nothing to do with the suicide. There are research that when parents lose a child to suicide, there is a high chance that a divorce will occur. Nothing would likely to stay normal after such an event happened. As an anonymous once said, “Suicide doesn’t end the pain, it just passes the pain on to someone else.”
